The Lego Ninjago Fire Temple may be the largest from the Ninjago sets to date and is definitely an impressive set both visually for any display piece and also as a play experience for kids.

It is wonderful too that Lego has seen fit to produce many (although not all) of the specialized pieces with Oriental looking motifs less stickers but fully printed pieces that will keep going longer.The theme introduces some wonderful new pieces that kids can use to create their own buildings, vehicles and creatures later on.
If your child isnt interested in the game, simply discard the battle cards that come with the sets. Then the Ninjago characters can be played with like regular Lego sets, in a Japanese inspired Ninja environment.
The theme relies around the Ninja inspired fictional martial-art of Spinjitzu. The practice involves two opponents spinning around fast and trying to disarm the other. It is a reasonably simple concept but could be made more involved with the introduction of Battle Cards.
The Ninjago theme is really a Lego theme introduced in 2011 with much fanfare.

The game is pretty easy and fun but you dont even need to play the games to build or enjoy the sets.
